WHY BHUTAN IS ONE OF THE MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD

HOW DOES BHUTAN DO IT

In a world that is increasingly being destroyed, Bhutan may offer us a new model of development and a new vision of the future in a world where the concept of "Gross national happiness" is very different from the mainstream view of development.

1.

Good Ecology, fresh and beautiful natural scenery, the north of the steep mountains, rivers more, north-south column.

2

In order to protect the country's environment and ecological resources, to the greatest extent possible to maintain their own living habits.

3

The Bhutanese have been faithful to the Tibetan Buddhism for generations, with a modest and docile national character, while stubbornly preserving their customs and cultural traditions.

TO TRANSFORM THE COUNTRYSIDE.

 My advice

1

Increase support for rural road construction and urban transport, so that farmers can be exposed to more updated and more advanced ideas and skills.

2

Find out if farming, farming, or tourism can be developed for different rural customs and local landscapes.

3

We will strengthen infrastructure construction, building new schools, hospitals and water conservancy facilities, rais rural living standards and improve rural living conditions.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BUILT ENVIRONMENT KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATION CITY LIFE

virtual trip

The relationship between architecture and environment includes the relationship with natural and artificial environment. Such as mountains, rivers, trees, buildings. The so-called construction environment does not refer to a single building, but includes the building in a range. The environment of the building is not only man-made architectural environment, but also natural greening, water body and landscape environment. Fully integrate the building with the surrounding greening and water environment, as well as the physical landscape.

In urban life applications

1. The construction site shall be located in a safe area free from hazards such as geological hazards or flooding.

2. The general layout of the building should incorporate the local natural and geographical features and should not damage the natural eco-environment.

3. The building should be surrounded by hygienic conditions, such as access to sunlight, natural light and natural ventilation.

4. The air, soil and water surrounding the building shall not constitute a hazard to human health and ensure a healthy and safe

It's a dialogue with the natural environment. We chose the Amazon rainforest. The Amazon rainforest is called the lungs of the earth. We want to take this opportunity to let more people know about it. We call on people to protect the environment.

This is a travel brochure. Its purpose is to let people know more about a place. When you arrive at a new place, a travel brochure can help you get to know the city quickly.

REFLECTION

This semester has been a meaningful and transformative journey for me, and I am especially grateful for the guidance of Ms. Sze Ee. From the very beginning, I wanted to design something inspired by classical gardens, similar to the Suzhou Gardens. My vision was for my final work to be more than just a single building—it would be a harmonious combination of architecture and landscape.

After P1A, I began to study how to integrate elements of Suzhou Gardens into the local cultural context of Penang. However, combining a park with a building proved to be a challenge, as it required balancing two different design approaches. In July, I visited city parks in Kuala Lumpur for inspiration, exploring them through a city walk. These visits sparked new ideas, and my design went through many revisions before it reached its final form.

From P1B to the Final Interim, I received valuable feedback from Mr. Prince and Ms. Teh, for which I am very thankful. One of the most memorable moments was achieving a B+ in P1B and later an A in the Final Interim—my highest grades in five years at Taylor’s University.

Throughout this period, my daily routine was simple yet intense. I would wake up at 10 a.m., work on my project until midnight, and repeat. I devoted all my time to design, without entertainment or social activities. This experience reminded me of the Chinese saying: "Heaven rewards diligence."

After retaking AD4, I began to truly reflect on my approach to design. In the past, I only aimed to pass with a grade of C and graduate. But over the past year, I have pushed myself to grow, improve, and treat architecture as a craft worth my full commitment.

Now, I have finally achieved what I aimed for and can graduate with pride. I am satisfied with my work and grateful for the support I have received. As I close this chapter, I leave with the words: "The green hills remain, the flowing waters endure—until we meet again."
